An acoustic piano is a traditional piano that uses specially
designed strings that are stretched around a cast iron frame. Under
extreme tension, the strings are struck by felt hammers when a key
is played.
The action of the hammers striking the strings produces the notes
you hear. This is a pure, non amplified sound caused by vibration of
the strings and is extremely pleasing to listen to. As a musical
instrument and a beautiful furniture piece, there is no finer
example of fine cabinet woodworking combined with the music makers
art than an acoustic grand piano. Acoustic grand pianos come in many
sizes and colors, and can be adapted with a player mechanism to
provide hours of musical enjoyment.
Acoustic upright pianos employ the same principals to produce their
sounds as an acoustic grand piano, but occupy less space.
So whether you choose a grand or upright acoustic piano for your
home, school, church or performing arts center, we're sure you will
receive many years of musical enjoyment and entertainment from our
lines of finely crafted musical instruments.

Why Choose A Digital Electric Piano?
Most teachers prefer that their students learn on real pianos.
However, many will accept the beginner student with a digital
electric piano with the understanding that a real piano will be
required when the student progresses to a more advanced level.
The digital piano is a relatively new category of piano and
incorporates micro chips and sound systems instead of strings
and hammers to produce their sound. A digital piano is very
versatile. Many have hundreds of sounds that have been sampled
from authentic instruments making their sound through speakers l, and can play different kinds of rhythm styles
together with these various instrument voices. Digital pianos
have recording functions that allow you to record practice or
performance sessions. Some are capable of playing pre-recorded
music disks, even digital music files downloaded from the
internet.
The keyboards try to simulate the touch of a real piano by
placing weights in the mechanism. Most digitals have a cheap
feel because they use hollow and thin plastic keys. Entry
level instruments do not come close to the feel and touch of a
well prepared acoustic piano. A few high end digitals $$$$
will come closer but cost as much as a real
piano. Some of these use solid or wood keys to simulate
the look of a real piano. The key materials used however
are not the same quality as their acoustic counterparts in our
opinion. It has been our experience that the predicted
lifespan of the digital piano is equivalent to a computer or
home stereo system. It is susceptible to all of the
potential threats to electronics specifically power surges and
lightning strikes. Depreciation of the digital piano is
significant and on par with home electronics. Resale value
is poor due to recent technology sound advancements and fragile
build quality.
As a digital piano does not incorporate strings or castings to
produce the sound, they tend to be smaller, lighter and easier
to move than a real piano. Although the electronic piano is a
compromise to a real piano it solves some moving, humidity and
environmental issues. If you must place your piano in a
damp space then a electric is probably your best solution.
Many people think that digital pianos save space but you need
just about the same left to right dimensions to fit 88 keys.
The keyboard height needs to conform to a real piano to be
comfortable and useful. If you need to install your piano
in a fifth floor walk-up loft the expense of moving a real piano
may cause you to choose a digital piano. A musician who
needs to carry a piano from place to place will usually settle
for the digital piano due to weight and portability. If a
decent piano is available at the venue however you can be sure
that the musician will opt to play the real thing. You can practice in
silence using headphone which is an advantage and they of course
never need tuning since they are recordings of a tuned piano.
Digital pianos come in both grand and upright models.
